MULTAN:

“As many as six Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders want to be prime minister,” said veteran politician Javed Hashmi.

He was talking to newsmen.

“There schism within the PTI is widening. Soon there will be public rifts over who wants to be prime minister,” he added.

Hashmi said Imran Khan was the only PTI leader who could become prime minister.

“However, Khan will never be able to realise his dream of being prime minister,” he said. “The protests in Islamabad have destroyed Khan’s political career.”

Hashmi said he was confident that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would complete his five-year tenure.

“Khan does not realise that his immature political gimmickry is only helping the government,” he said.

Hashmi said the army chief stood by the prime minister and would not allow anyone to subvert the constitution.   Hashmi said it looked likely that PML-N would return to power in 2018 elections.  “By that time, the PTI would have disintegrated into two or three pressure groups,” he said.
