ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved construction of an additional block at the Capital Hospital, commonly known as CDA Hospital.

The authority has allocated Rs0.1 billion for the construction of the five-storey block, with 100-bed capacity.

CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal approved the project during a meeting on Monday.

Capital Hospital Executive Director Dr Asif Ali and other officials also attended the meeting.

The hospital officials said the ongoing up-gradation of the operation theatre and cardiac centre would be completed by the end of March.

Dr Asif Ali said up-gradation and extension of the hospital would not only facilitate thousands of CDA’s serving and retired employees but also private patients.

He said the existing operation theatre would be equipped with latest medical tools and machinery with the facility to manage four operations at a time.

Chairman CDA directed the executive director to induct staff for angioplasty and cath lab facilities.

He asked the officials to prepare PC-I of the project at the earliest. He also directed them to publish the tender notice for up-gradation of operation theatre and establishment of a cardiac centre so that it could be completed up to March next year.
