QUETTA: Four persons were shot dead and two were left critically injured in Mand Bullo, an area bordering Iran, in the Kech district in a probable incident of targeted killing. Officials said that all victims were from Faisalabad and Lahore returning from Iran and were about to leave for Karachi at a local bus terminal. “The victims were trying to hide their identities and introduced themselves as Iranians out of fear of being targeted as Punjabis,” eyewitnesses told this correspondent. However, they said, their identity cards gave them away, an official said, adding that it could be a case of targeted killing. Personnel of the Levies forces later mounted a manhunt for the killers.

Meanwhile, a soldier of the Balochistan Constabulary (BC) was killed in an attack on a check post in the Chattar area of Naseerabad district, the Levies force said on Sunday.  Armed men attacked the check post with sophisticated weapons, killing BC personnel Ali Khan.
