KARACHI:

Sindh Assembly (SA) speaker Agha Siraj Durrani has summoned an assembly session on December 5 on the requisition of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Party MPAs had submitted a requisition application signed by 42 members on November 24, requesting the speaker to call the session to discuss the law and order situation in Karachi.

"We are deeply concerned about the precarious law and order scenario, as our workers and elected representatives are coming under attack," said the MQM's Faisal Subzwari. According to the SA secretary, the law and order situation will be the session's top priority but other agendas could be taken up with the speaker's permission. The MQM parted ways with the government a few weeks ago but the speaker has yet to allott opposition seats to them.
