Upping the ante: PPP threatens to block highways, roads
PPP leader Senator Raza Rabbani on Wednesday threatened to block the highways and roads leading to airports for indefinite time if Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) are privatised by the federal government.
Addressing a joint press conference along with other leaders of his party at PPP Media Cell, he said, “We reject federal government’s privatisation policy under which it is going to sell the state-owned and profitable institutions to their friends at throwaway price,” he said, adding that PPP would resist the federal government’s move and start the campaign in every nook and cranny of Pakistan.
Raza Rabbani also said they have convened a meeting of different labour organisations on December 5 where line of action would be devised against the government’s privatisation policy.

Look at their shameless audacity. After completely ruining these once strong state institutions by putting in thousands and thousands of their party workers, now they have the courage to tell others not to privatize them. Steel Mills was in operating profit when PPP took over, they put it in 21 billion loss within a few months, & left it with huge debts and operating at minimum possible 2% capacity. PIA had its worst ever time in these years as well. Still this party was brazen enough to insert 6000 each of its workers in both these institutions. Not to forget that first action of PPP govt in 2008 was re-installing its sacked workers from Govt institutions with back pays of 7 billion. PTCL was privatized 10 years ago, and to date they r giving golden handshakes to its employees to get rid of PPP filth. Oh and one last question, why Mr Rabbani is so scared of PIA/PSM getting privatized when it is guaranteed that employees will not be sacked? Irrespective of how they were hired in the first place. Its cuz their useless karkuns r so hopeless, they find it impossible to even work 9-5. A shutdown factory and dysfunctional Airlines where they get free tickets without work is best suited for their taste. Shame PPP Shame, u r dying party with nowhere to hide.

PPP is the one that basically killed PIA & Pakistan Steel Mill by giving employment to its jayalas. Now that both companies are bankrupt how can this bankrupt-mind can tell the nation what to do. Instead of taxpayers why PPP crooks who bankrupt the country in their tenure pay for wages of its jayalas at these companies. How long people have to put up with these beaten up politicians who can't win their seats even.

Since when did PIA & PSM become "profitable institutions"? Get rid of all the extra, politically appointed employees and see how these both institutions turn profitable in couple of years!!
