Act of courage: Officials felicitated for recovering mill owner’s son

National Highways and Motorway Police IG Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema on Tuesday awarded certificates and Rs50,000 each to Officials Khurram Shad and Amjad Mumtaz for valour.


They were felicitated for recovering Farhan Saeed, the son of the owner of Madni Textile Mill, who had been abducted for ransom. Saeed was recently abducted from Gujranwala. Cheema said the Motorway Police was committed to protecting the life and property of the citizens.

According to details, the National Highways and Motorway Police control room had received information regarding Saeed’s abduction.

A team had pursued the fleeing vehicle near Kot Momin and a shootout had ensued.

One of the suspects was killed in the exchange of fire while Bilal, Shahzeb and Shamshad Begum, his accomplices were overpowered and arrested. Saeed was safely recovered from the spot. Subsequent investigations revealed that there were several complaints registered against the suspects.
