Hiring: CIMA appoints new chief
Manwaring will be responsible for advancing CIMA’s position as world’s largest management accounting institute
KARACHI:
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) announced the appointment of Tony Manwaring as its external affairs executive director. The newly created role forms part of CIMA’s Senior Management Team based at its Corporate Centre and will commence work from January 2015. Manwaring will be responsible for advancing CIMA’s position as the world’s largest management accounting institute. Additionally, he will oversee corporate communications and media strategy to drive the profile of CIMA and the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation. CIMA Chief Executive Charles Tilley said the team is looking forward to Manwaring’s work. “We have had one of our most ambitious years to date in 2014 with the launches of our competency framework, revised syllabus and CGMA Global Management Accounting Principles.” Meanwhile, Manwaring commented was looking forward to the challenge. “I look forward to leading the external affairs programme at CIMA and advocating the power of management accounting in helping people and business to succeed across key markets.”
