increasing crime: Robbers strike at house; weapons seized

ISLAMABAD:


Armed robbers struck at a house in the limits of Koral police and made away with cash, car and other valuables.


Imran Zia lodged a complaint with the local police that six armed robbers broke into his house in Jhangi Syedan and held the family members hostage.


They ransacked the house cupboard, looted Rs600,000 cash, jewellery, mobile phones and other valuables and drove away in his Honda City (WB-563) to an unknown location.


Meanwhile, the same police arrested two persons and seized weapons and ammunition from their possession.


During a patrol in Chirah, a police party seized an unlicenced Kalashnikov with 10 bullets from Talib Hussain and an unlicenced 30-bore pistol with three bullets from Amir.


The police registered separate cases under the relevant laws at the Koral Police Station and investigations are under way, said an official.
