Public health: Two more infants die at Sargodha DHQ hospital

Bringing the death toll to 18 in four days.

SARGODHA:


Two more children died at Sargodha District Headquarters Hospital on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 18 in four days.


A committee headed by the Health services director submitted its report to the chief minister.


The chief minister reviewed the findings of the inquiry after which Health Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik suspended Medical Superintendent Iqbal Sami.


Health Department officials said additional charge of the hospital MS had been given to Sargodha Health Services Director Dr Najam.


They said Iqbal had been suspended from service for not addressing administration issues of the hospital. They said parents,


Four children had died at the hospital on Thursday.
