PESHAWAR:

Residents of Bara, Khyber Agency claim government departments, political administration and Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) do not consult them before carrying out development projects in their areas.

The general secretary of a local committee called Khidmat Khalq in Bara, Haji Ayub Khan, along with other members Asghar Khan and Haji Rehmat addressed a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Friday to voice their reservations.

Though they appreciated development projects in their localities, they demanded being taken into confidence before any scheme is initiated.

Members of the committee said the government has now planned to construct a link road in the area, claiming it would affect fertile lands and houses. They pointed out that a huge number of houses would come in the way of the surveyed track.
