This or that? Size hero trumps size zero

Here’s a breakdown of their looks.

November 22, 2014

Actors Scarlett Johansson and Christina Hendricks are Hollywood head-turners, who have denounced the size-zero frenzy that A-listers once fixated on.

Scarlett gave birth to her first child at the beginning of September and we have to hand it to her, she looked as fantastic as ever at the Hurricane Sandy benefit at New York City’s Hudson Terrace. Although Christina’s red carpet looks are usually lacklustre in comparison with the retro frocks she wears as Joan Harris on Mad Men, she slayed the red carpet at the 2014 CCN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute in NYC. Here’s a breakdown of their looks.

Scarlett Johansson

Hair and make-up:

The Lucy lead let her natural beauty shine through with minimal make-up, which included winged eyeliner and pink lip gloss. Her make-up choices accentuate her newly short crop. Her skin looked radiant as she posed on the red carpet.

Outfit:

Scarlett sported a casual chic look at the event. Showcasing her post-baby curvy figure, the new mom wore a Proenza Schouler black and navy silk crepe dress from the Spring 2015 collection. With an elegant cut in a classy blue shade, the dress was defined with a pleated skirt. It was the perfect preppy-meets-pretty number.

Accessories and shoes:

The actor finished her look with Sophia Webster ‘Flamingo’ pumps. The 30-year-old beauty, who welcomed daughter, Rose, with fiancé Romain Dauriac, wore a ring on her left ring finger. We hear wedding bells!

Christina Hendricks

Hair and make-up:

The flame-haired beauty proved that her vintage-inspired make-up is just as striking on screen as it is on  the red carpet. The deep crimson lip and peachy-keen complexion paired beautifully, illuminating her porcelain skin. Her side-swept tresses looked effortless and glossy.

Outfit:

Hendricks, 39, flaunted her signature curves in a Zac Posen frock at the event, epitomising sophisticated chic. Showing off that enviable frame, the dress was nipped sharply in to accentuate her waist. The vibrant eye-popping tarnished green colour made the dress more refined and alluring, and the 50s silhouettes indicated that the Mad Men look is here to stay.

Accessories and shoes:

Keeping it simple, the red-headed diva dazzled in a pair of gold and black Bionda Castana pumps and carried a bronze clutch. Talk about donning an award-worthy get-up.
