Road accident: Two policemen die in road mishap

HYDERABAD:


Two policemen died while three others were injured when an armoured personnel carrier (APC) overturned in Thatta on Thursday.


The incident took place in the village of Fakir Jo Goth where the police had gone to vacate a piece of land from squatters.

According to DSP Raja Baharat, who was allegedly manhandled at the Makli government hospital by family members of the deceased, the incident happened due to the driver's mistake as he took a sharp turn at a considerably higher speed.

Up to 40 land grabbers were nominated in the FIR lodged by a forest official. Arz Muhammed Khoso and Yaseen Jakhro died in the accident while Hakeem Sarki, Qurban and Abbas Arain were injured.  The injured policemen were referred to Karachi.
