Fluctuating Lux Style Awards finally succumb

Awards will be announced at a sit-down high tea session.

KARACHI: With dates constantly fluctuating, the Lux Style Awards will now finally be held on December 4 in Karachi. The venue for the event has not been disclosed yet due to security reasons and hopefully the event will not see any further delays.

Ambiguity regarding the event taking place or not has left both the media and celebrities confused. Previously, when a few celebrities were asked about LSA 2014, many were dumfounded and lacked certainty about whether the show would even take place. Even though, award categories, details of nominations and nominees were disclosed recently, the constant change in dates was demoralising and has left many looking to the LSA with little enthusiasm.

Media Connector at Golin, Gul Afridi, the company responsible for organising the LSAs told The Express Tribune that, “A sit-down high tea will be happening. It won’t be an awards night dinner party per se this year. Our fingers are crossed for the current and hopefully final proposed date for LSA, even if it means a selective sit-down high tea event.”

According to a press release issued by LSA 2014 organisers, there will be 10 fashion categories, which are Best Female/Male Model, Best Menswear, Pret, Luxury Pret, High Street and Lawn Designer, Best Hair and Make-up, Best Photographer and Best Emerging Talent. Film categories of Best Actor and Best Actress have a full clutch of five nominees each. Music nominations include Best Album, Best Video, Best Original Sound Track encompassing film and TV, Song of the Year and Emerging Talent.
