Crackdown: 7,525 fined for using vehicles with tinted glass

Police have taken action against 7,525 people for driving vehicles with tinted glass.


Police said the crackdown on vehicles with tinted glass had been launched on the orders of CCPO Amin Wains. They said several pickets had been set up in the city to check such vehicles.

Chief Traffic Officer Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said he had ordered SPs and DSPs to improve patrolling.

Separately, Patrolling Additional IG Mian Javed Islam chaired a meeting of the Punjab Highway Patrol. He reviewed the department’s performance over the last six months.

He said police would collect a data of criminals, including proclaimed offenders, to arrest the suspects during patrolling. He said the Punjab Highway Patrol would also act against those speeding on national highways.

Meanwhile, Operations DIG Haider Ashraf praised police and traffic wardens for their services during the Tableeghi Ijtima in Raiwand.
