Justice served: Khosa house attackers convicted, sentenced

DERA GHAZI KHAN: An anti-terrorism court convicted five men for the attack on Khosa House in 2009 and acquitted two others.

ATC Judge Sajjad Hussain Sindher sentenced Hanif Gabol and Muhammad Sadiq to death 78 times and 572 years imprisonment.

Muhammad Tariq, Wazir Ahmed and Muhammad Basheer were sentenced to 135 years in prison.

All five men were fined Rs29.1 million collectively.

Deputy prosecutor Malik Zahid Hussain said the men had attacked the main gate of Senator Zulfiqar Khosa’s house. Over 50 people died and 97 others were injured. None of Khosa’s family members were in the house when it was attacked. However, the attack took place near a market and wreaked havoc. Seven men were arrested for planning the attack on Khosa’s house who was an adviser to the CM at the time. Jamshed and Qari Asmatullah were released on benefit of doubt.
