Management: Traffic police issue plan for Tableeghi Ijtima

LAHORE:

Traffic police have finalised a traffic plan for the second phase of Tableeghi Ijtima at Raiwind allocating 11 car parks for the participants of the event.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said traffic wardens and officers from other cities had also been called to help manage traffic during the ijtima. He said four SPs, 13 DSPs, 41 inspectors, 122 patrol officers, 20 SIs, 20 ASIs, 676 traffic wardens and 134 traffic officers would do duty on two shifts.

Cheema said 19 fork lifters and 10 vehicles had been reserved to provide help to the owners of broken down vehicles. “A traffic police camp and a wireless control room have been set up and connected with the main control room. Diversions have also been planned,” the CTO said. He said citizens could get information about the traffic management plan by dialling 0423-1915 or 1915. They can also tune into FM 88.6 to receive updates on the traffic situation, the CTO said.
