A robbery suspect undergoing treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital escaped, allegedly due to the negligence of police officials.
A case has been registered against two police constables, and a departmental inquiry has been initiated.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Rashid Hidayat, the two police officials, Constables Amjad and Muhammad Usman, facilitated the suspect's escape and have since been arrested.
The DPO has directed SP Investigation to conduct a transparent inquiry, with departmental action to follow based on the findings.
Meanwhile, the CIA and Saddar Circle Police have been tasked with re-arresting the escaped suspect within 48 hours.
"A zero-tolerance policy will be enforced against negligence, carelessness, and corruption," said DPO Hidayat.
He assured that strict departmental action will be taken against those involved and emphasized the department's commitment to safeguarding citizens' lives and property.
