A woman and her husband allegedly beat up two traffic wardens in Garden Town on Thursday.
Traffic police said a warden had stopped the woman at a signal and that she had slapped him following an argument.
She then went home and came back with her husband. By the time, the warden had completed his shift and left. They said the husband got into another argument with another warden and beat him up. They said that the couple came in a car with a fake number plate. Traffic police took the woman and her husband to Garden Town police station, where the couple refused to come out of the car. Some female wardens spoke to the woman and managed to persuade the couple to get out.
Advocate Omar, a brother of the woman, negotiated with the SHO and the couple were allowed to leave.
A police official requesting anonymity said that an FIR would be registered if the chief traffic officer asked police to do so.
