PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) arrested contractors Akhtar Haleem and Imdad Khan Khalil for alleged corruption.

According to a handout issued on Thursday, the two were involved in manipulating the bidding process in the allotment of a 5-kanal plot adjacent to Iqra University in Hayatabad. The handout stated the allotment was made on a very nominal price for 33 years with the provision of further extension.

It was revealed during the course of investigation that the plot had been allotted to Raz Muhammad Durrani through an allegedly forged bidding procedure. The call deposits of all three bidders were prepared from the same bank account on the very same day.

NAB K-P has already arrested Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) director Ikramullah, deputy director Muhammad Jan, Ijaz Afzal Khan and Raz Muhammad Durrani in pursuance of
the case.

The bureau is actively investigating the matter and the accused will be presented before the accountability court for physical remand.
