Bad performance: Show cause notices issued to policemen

LAHORE: DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of Iqbal Town Division police and issued show-cause notices to four SHOs and two DSPs. Ashraf took the decision during the monthly crime review meeting on Monday. The action was taken against Muslim Town Circle DSP Imran Abbas, Iqbal Town Circle DSP Khalid Mahmood Khan and Nawankot, Wahdat Colony, Muslim Town and Iqbal Town SHOs. The DIG directed Iqbal Town Division SP Ammara Athar, SDPOs and SHOs to utilise all resources to check the crime rate. Haider ordered the officers to launch a crackdown against robbers, dacoits, kidnappers and extortionists. The Iqbal Town SP told the DIG that they had arrested 44 proclaimed offenders and 82 court absconders during October.
