IED attack: Pro-govt volunteers killed

PESHAWAR:

Two members of the pro-government militia Touheedul Islam were killed and one injured when a bomb planted by unknown militants detonated in the remote Naray Baba area of Landi Kotal subdivision of Khyber Agency.

An official of the political administration said the improvised explosive device was planted by unknown militants near their check-post and was detonated by a remote device in which two volunteers died on the spot and one was injured.

The injured, identified as Shafi Afridi, was shifted to a hospital in Peshawar. Meanwhile, the members of Touheedul Islam have started searching the area for militants. Elsewhere, a 12-year-old student was gunned down in Landi Kotal tehsil.

An official said that a grade-four student Zabihullah was on his way to school when unknown persons intercepted and opened fire on him — killing him on the spot. Naik Muhammad, father of the deceased boy, told the officials that he had no personal dispute or enmity with anyone.
