QUETTA:

Army has trained 200 police personnel for motorcycle-mounted force to combat terrorism in Quetta.

“The officers of Pakistan Army have imparted training to 200 police personnel on 20 motorcycles,” the military’s media wing said in a statement on Sunday.

Last month, the Balochistan government created a motorcycle-mounted police force to maintain law and order in the volatile provincial capital, which has been marred by violence.

In its statement, ISPR said that the police personnel were trained to respond to incidents of terrorism, targeted attacks and street crimes.

“It will help police to perform better as they have been trained to cope with different situations and to make best use of their weapons while on motorbikes,” the statement said.

The motorcycle-mounted force also performed during the Muharram processions which culminated without any untoward incident.
