Over ‘honour’: Man slaughters wife over suspicions

MANSEHRA: A man allegedly murdered his wife over suspicious of her having an illicit relationship with someone, said the police on Sunday. Police quoted Shah Jehan of Pano Dheri village saying his daughter Samreen, 24, married Fiaz, son of Sharif, about a year back. He added his daughter always complained about her husband’s behaviour. On Saturday evening, Shah Jehan received a phone call from his son-in-law Fiaz, informing him about the sudden death of Samreen. When Jehan reached King Abdullah Teaching Hospital to see the body of his daughter, he saw her neck had been slit. The complainant said that after informing him about the death of his daughter, Fiaz went missing which proves that he had slaughtered his wife to death. Police believe the evidence supports the narrative of some of the villagers who claimed Fiaz murdered Samreen because he suspected her to be in an illicit relationship with someone. The police have registered an FIR against Fiaz but he is still at large.
