Dera Bugti unrest: Landmine injures folk singer’s son, says niece

QUETTA: The son and niece of Balochi folk singer Sabz Ali Bugti were critically injured in a landmine explosion outside his home in Dera Bugti Town in the Bugti Tribal Territory. According to an official of Dera Bugti Levies, six-year-old Nabila and seven-year-old Abdul Majeed Sabz were playing outside Sabz Ali’s house when a landmine planted there went off. The children sustained critical wounds. The wounded children were transported to a hospital in Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab, as there was no proper health facility in the resource rich Dera Bugti. The girl is in a critical condition, the official said quoting doctors. The Balochistan Levies have started an investigation into the incident.
