LAHORE:

All the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MPAs will visit the Punjab Assembly today (Friday) for the verification of their resignations, PTI Punjab information secretary Andleeb Abbas said.

“The delay in the matter has been owing to the speaker. It was not due to the MPAs,” she said.

Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal has called the MPAs after they tendered their resignations in August.

The PTI MPAs met party’s vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday.

Talking to The Express Tribune, leader of the opposition Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed said that they would arrive at the assembly at 11am.

Rashid said that the question of whether the MPAs would go individually or en masse for the verification of their resignations depended upon their interaction with the speaker.

Earlier during the day, Qureshi visited some of the people injured in the Wagah terrorist attack. He also visited the Wagah border and attended the flag-lowering ceremony.
