Security measures: Parking banned along procession routes
The police will ensure a distance of at least 200 metres between parking and the route of procession
RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police have banned parking along the route of mourning processions in the city. City Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz said emergency squads have also been deployed to regulate the flow of traffic in the city. He said there will be a complete ban on parking of any vehicle, motorcycles or carts on or along the procession routes. A total of 1,100 wardens will perform duty on Ashura, November 4. The police will ensure a distance of at least 200 metres between parking and the route of procession. The CTO also asked wardens to remove all kinds of encroachments from the routes of processions and keep an eye for suspected persons or things. The police would divert traffic from procession routes to alternative routes.
