Unknown direction: Minor injured by mortar shell

HANGU: A minor girl was injured when a mortar shell fired from an unknown location landed on a house on the outskirts of Hangu. An official of Hangu city police said the shell landed on the residence of Muhammad Ismail in Shahu Khel in the wee hours of Saturday morning. He added the structure of the house was damaged and a minor girl was injured as a result. The official said locals rushed to the spot after the attack and rescued the girl, identified as Umaima, from the rubble. She was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital where her condition was said to be stable. A case was registered and further investigation is under way.
