KARACHI:

The director-general (DG) of Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Major General Bilal Akbar, has said that the paramilitary force is taking all measures to provide a secure environment for business ventures in the city.

He said that the visible decline in cases of extortion and kidnappings was testimony of the Rangers' resolve to combat this menace. The Rangers DG was speaking at a visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Monday.

On his arrival, DG Akbar was received by the KCCI president Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra and others. The traders and industrialists praised the Rangers' efforts and showed confidence in the force.

DG Akbar also highlighted the role of the Rangers Special Task Force in solving extortion and ransom cases in the minimum possible time. He said that the special task force was an interface between the business community and the Rangers, which could be utilised to extract maximum benefit. DG Rangers also urged the members of KCCI to report any suspicious activity on the Rangers Helpline, 1101.
