Roadside hazard: Security personnel injured in IED blast

Four officials of security forces and an official of the Bajaur Levies injured

KHAR: Five security personnel were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by unidentified militants went off in Nawagai tehsil of Bajaur Agency Monday morning. Political administration official Abdul Manan Khan said the incident occurred around 10:00am, adding security forces along with levies personnel were clearing roads of mines and IEDs at the time. He added the IED left four officials of security forces and an official of the Bajaur Levies injured. All of them were rushed to Agency Headquarters Hospital, Khar where they were said to be in stable condition. Officials of the security forces were identified as Manzoor, Rahim, Nazir and Imran, and the paramilitary soldier as Abdul Waheed. A search operation was also launched soon after.
