Public Health: Board set up to monitor food quality

FAISALABAD: A district food quality control board has been constituted to check adulteration and food quality in Faisalabad. The district coordination officer (DCO) would be convener of the board. DCO Noorul Amin Mengal chaired the first meeting of the board in which a strategy was evolved for an operation against adulteration of food items. The DCO constituted two teams headed by city assistant commissioner and Saddar assistant commissioner. He said control rooms would be set up at the offices of the ACs to receive information and complaints against adulteration. The DCO directed the assistant commissioners to check food quality at hotels, restaurants and canteens. He said negligence would not be tolerated.
