The bodies were handed over to the families for burial. A police official said: “Unidentified gunmen opened fire at the car which was loaded with petrol. The two occupants of the car also sustained bullet wounds.”
Washuk DPO Lal Jan Baloch speculated that the double murder could be the result of some personal feud. Washuk is said to be an international route for drug trafficking and petrol smuggling where drug pushers and security personnel frequently clash.
Separately, an alleged kidnapper and an abductee were killed after a mob opened fire on a group of kidnappers in the Dasht-e-Laila area of Mashkail.
According to the police, six gunmen kidnapped Jumma Khan from his residence in the remote Dazi area of Washuk. Khan’s relatives chased the kidnappers to the Dasht-e-Laila area, where a mob intercepted the kidnappers. A gunfight ensued and as a result Khan and one of his kidnappers, identified as Azeem, were killed. Another five kidnappers were arrested by the police.
