Chrissy Teigen responded angrily to backlash after confusing Chelsea Football Club with Ipswich Town during an interview at a Premier League match.

Teigen, joined by her husband John Legend, attended Arsenal’s game at the Emirates Stadium in London on Wednesday. After the match, the couple appeared on Prime Video, both wearing Chelsea football shirts, and were asked about their support for the club.

Teigen explained her choice, saying, "Listen, I love an underdog, and I love coming in and being surprised by how much a team can do. It was so much fun for us to root for them, especially when everyone was backing Arsenal." However, when asked specifically about Chelsea, Teigen seemed to confuse it with Ipswich Town, stating, "When you said Chelsea, I was like, is Chelsea Ipswich? I don't know."

Teigen also suggested changes to the game, saying, "Soccer needs more goals. The main goals should be higher in the air."

Her comments quickly sparked criticism from fans, with many calling her “clueless.” In response, Teigen fired back on Instagram, saying, "You know who the biggest 'n**s and t***s' are? The people who don’t like soccer as much as I do. I’m getting roasted for being the world’s biggest soccer fan. They’re jealous because they’ll never be as big a fan as me."

Teigen also shared a photo of herself in a football kit, asking, "Does this look like the face of someone who doesn't know soccer?"

John Legend, who was excited to attend their first Premier League game, added, "It was a closer match than we expected, closer than we thought." The couple, in London for the holidays, expressed their joy at the experience, despite admitting they didn’t fully understand the nuances of the game.
