LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge sought comments from the Shahdra station house officer on Thursday on a plea seeking the registration of a case against the petitioner’s husband who is accused of beating up the petitioner after she refused to ask her parents for money. Lubna Bibi said her husband was a drug addict and he often argued with her over petty issues. She said he used to ask her for money for drugs but she did not want to encourage him in the habit. She said a few days ago, her husband had asked her for some money again. When she told him that she didn’t have any, he pressed her to ask her parents for money. Lubna Bibi said that she refused to do so upon which her husband beat her up and kicked her out of the house. She said that she had gone to police but they had refused to entertain her complaint. She asked the court to direct the police to register a case against her husband.
