Employees of any organisation can get all medical tests, including urine and blood tests, x-rays and ultrasounds, done under the supervision of medical experts.
DUHS will conduct all the tests for a total sum of Rs2,000 per employee, which will be paid by the organisation, said Khan.
He asked the owners and heads of all organisations to contact DUHS should they wish to acquire this facility.
Khan said that the university has constituted a board of health experts who will visit factories and offices to conduct medical check-ups and physical examinations of the employees who work there. This will help in the early diagnosis of any disease or ailment among the employees, he added.
Computerised records of all medical check-ups will be maintained while reports will be provided to the patients. Meanwhile, experts on the board will also provide guidance and advice if an employee is diagnosed with any ailment, the vice-chancellor said.
“Employees are the assets of any organisation. They are the ones who work on machines, the equipments and other instruments.
If employees are attacked by any ailment, their work gets affected directly and their productivity tends to decline,” he said, adding that DUHS had launched its mobile check-up facility to resolve these issues.
Many people do not go for regular check-ups as they have limited means to support medical expenses.
This results in a deterioration of their health and they are forced to retire from work at an earlier stage, said Khan, who added that this creates greater financial troubles for their families as well.
