ISLAMABAD:
Local bodies polls should be held in Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa with the consensus of all political parties, Awami National Party (ANP) spokesman Senator Zahid Khan said on Sunday. Various political parties, including the ANP, had serious reservations on the Local Government Act and might challenge it in the court of law, he said talking to APP. The Senator said that ANP was against giving power to the chief minister to remove elected representatives in the local government system. Replying to a question, he said the ANP had no intention to join the federal government. He also suggested that the next general and local bodies elections should be held under biometric system after completion of fresh census and delimitations.
