Setback: Talks with PAT put off till Monday

Raheeq Abbasi says PAT hopes its Lahore rally would have a better effect on the talks

ISLAMABAD: The government and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have postponed their talks till Monday, officials from both sides confirmed on Saturday. “We will talk with the government after the PAT rally in Lahore on October 19,” said PAT president Raheeq Abbasi. He said that PAT’s teams is ready to negotiate with government but hoped that their Lahore rally would have a better effect on the talks. The government team, led by Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, had announced plans to start a fresh round of talks, but put off the same because PAT leaders were busy with the Lahore rally.
