SARGODHA: The local administration of Sargodah declared stairs and stage prepared for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) rally in the city as faulty, Express News reported on Friday.

After a full inspection was carried out, the local administration rejected the reliability of the stairs and stage as they did not meet the safety requirements.

The authorities requested PTI workers to replace the stairs - which will be used by party chief Imran Khan - to make access to the stage safe.

The district coordination officer and the district police officer visited the site and also found the stairs to be faulty and not fit for use.

All safety hazards were inspected and workers were called in to replace the stairs.

Prior to the May 2013 general elections, the PTI chief had fallen 14 to 16 feet off a forklift while being raised onto a stage at an election rally in Ghalib Market, Lahore. He had suffered a fractured skull and spinal injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
