KARACHI: An ice-cream parlour located at Urdu Chowk, Orangi Town, was set on fire by unidentified persons in Orangi Town on Wednesday. According to witnesses, a large number of people gathered outside and attacked the parlour. They broke the furniture and later set it on fire. The residents claimed that some illicit activities were taking place at the shop. The owner was also warned earlier but to no avail, which is why the residents decided to take the matter in their own hands. Some witnesses claimed that the police were also present when the arson took place but they failed to take any action, apparently due to the presence of a large crowd. Later, police officials refused to comment on the incident.
