A cache of charas worth millions of rupees was seized from a truck on National Highway near the Ali Wahan bypass, 10 kilometres from Sukkur, on Wednesday. Addressing a press conference in Sukkur, Sindh Customs intelligence director Asif Marghoob Siddiqui said that Customs intelligence staff stopped the truck, Z-5085, which was loaded with bags of fertilizer, after a tip-off. He added that 9,900 kilogrammes of high-quality charas was found in the truck. Truck driver Waqas and his accomplices Nawab Khan and Janbaz Khan have been arrested and a case has been registered against them. Siddiqui said that the value of the seized contraband in Pakistan was Rs800 million, while it was worth billions of rupees in the international market.
