DI KHAN: Police finalised a security plan ahead of Muharram in Tank district which is adjacent to South Waziristan. Tank DPO Abdul Hai said more than 900 police personnel will perform duties in three sectors and security forces would be available in case of an emergency. A statement issued from the DPO’s office said policemen will be deployed at imambargahs, mosques and other sensitive areas. Security will also be beefed up at all entry and exit points of the district. In addition, police mobiles will be patrolling the area for surveillance. The holidays of law enforcement officials have been postponed and they have been directed to ensure their presence for security checking during Muharram. Addressing the media, Hai requested locals to cooperate with the police and ensure security for all.
