Development partner: IFAD assures more funds for Pakistan

IFAD has created a new position in Pakistan, in order to diversify its programmes

ISLAMABAD: International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has recently mobilised its resources and by the end of 2015, significant financial resources would be available for prospective programmes in the rural areas Pakistan. The IFAD President Kanayo Nwanze said this in a meeting with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. During the meeting held on Sunday, Dar demanded more funds for the rural development, a finance ministry statement said. Nwanze reminded that Pakistan was the fourth largest recipient of IFAD resources in Asia and the Pacific region and that Pakistan was also a contributor to IFAD’s resources. IFAD, he said, has created a new position in Pakistan, in order to diversify its programmes, particularly focusing on youth employment and job creation in rural areas.
