LARKANA: It appears that the Taluka Municipal Administration may have lost one hundred years of the city’s property records, revealed sources unwilling to be named.

All records for Sachal Colony, Sheikh Zaid Colony and the Old Bus Stand area as well as for 1,000 other plots have been lost, paving the way for illegal constructions, sources said.

In his defence, former land officer Manzoor Ali said that he was removed from office 10 months ago on the basis of “political influence”. He added that the property records had been placed in the hands of the office incharge, Qurban Abrro, after his removal.

Meanwhile, the district government has taken notice of the incident and has initiated a probe into the matter under the DCO Larkana, who has included former land officer Umeed Ali Sangi as well as Manzoor Ali in the investigation, sources concluded.
