“The district administration has allowed the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to hold a public meeting at Dhobi Ghaat on Sunday (today),” said CPO Sohail Tajik on Saturday.
He said the police had finalised a security plan for the meeting and shard it with PAT leaders.
Tajik said five superintendents, 12 deputy superintendents, 10 inspectors, 152 sub inspectors and 1,023 jawans would be deployed at and around the meeting venue.
He said 150 cops in plain clothes would be also deputed at the meeting.
He said 12 quick response teams would also patrol the area. Tajik said the venue would be checked by the technical staff of the bomb disposal squad.

He said the district administration had also arranged for the fire brigade, drinking water, Rescue 1122 and ambulances at the meeting.
The CPO said walkthrough gates would be installed at entry gates.
He said the Dhobi Ghaat ground and its surrounding areas would be cleared through sniffer dogs and the anti-mine squad and a video recording of the meeting would be used for surveillance.

Meanwhile, PAT Vice President Basharat Aziz Jaspail told newsmen that more than 100,000 people would participate in the meeting and arrangements for the meeting had been completed.
He said the venue had been decorated with hoardings, flags and photos of Tahirul Qadri. He said people from Jaranwala, Samundari, Gojra, Toke Tek Sing and Chiniot would also participate in the meeting.
