PESHAWAR: A demonstration against Indian aggression was held outside Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Friday. At least nine civilians have lost their lives in cross-border firing since Monday and many have suffered financial losses as their livestock was killed in the exchange of fire. Condemning the fatalities in Sialkot, protesters carried placards against the use of force at the working boundary. They termed the violation ‘a war without warning’.  “If India does not stop its aggression, Pakistan has every right to defend its sovereignty,” said one protester. The Provincial Youth Assembly (PYA) also gathered outside the PPC on Sher Shah Suri Road to protest against firing at the Line of Control (LoC). Led by PYA Chairman Muhammad Abid Khan Atuzai and President Zeeshan Hoti, protesters said the aim of the rally was to express solidarity with the victims’ families. The PYA demanded a tough response from the Pakistan Army against India. Led by Jamaat-e-Islami district ameer Bahrullah Khan, a number of Shabab-e-Milli Pakistan activists also held a protest rally.
