Murder case: Gilani's guard sent on 14-day judicial remand

Suspect presented in anti-terrorism court; physical remand requested for further investigation

LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court has sent Abdul Qadir Gilani's guard on a 14-day judicial remand for allegedly killing a student in Lahore, Express News reported on Friday. Qadir is the son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.

On October 8, Muhammad Khan allegedly opened fire at Tahir Malik when he came across Qadir’s motorcade near Bedian Road.

A physical remand will be ordered after the investigation is completed over the next 14 days to establish whether Khan is guilty or not.

The guard was presented at the court today, where police requested for his physical remand to carry out further investigation.

Khan was presented in court earlier than he was scheduled to due to security threats. Demonstrators, particularly PTI workers, have been gathered outside the police station where the guard was held.
