India fighting small-scale war with Pakistan: DG Rangers Punjab
In a comprehensive briefing to the media at the working boundary, DG Rangers Major General Tahir Javaid Khan said though the aggression appears to be military, there could a political agenda behind the recent border clashes.
While talking to the media, DG Rangers provided a breakdown of firearms used in the ceasefire violations between 2010 and 2014. According to him, Indian Border Security Force (BSF) used 3.48 million small firearms on the working boundary during the stated period.
More than 30,000 mortar shells have also been fired between the aforementioned years and DG Rangers said such a large amount is not even used in a full-scale war.
Denying allegations that Pakistan started firing on LoC, Foreign Office said border clashes were initiated by India and the armed forces are only responding to Indian aggression.
As firing began on the first day of Eidul Azha on 193-km long working boundary, thousands of firearms have reportedly landed in Pakistan.
On October 6 alone, over 51,000 small arms were fired across the boundary, while on October 7, more than 4,000 mortar shells were fired. Exceeding the previous number, India fired over 6,000 mortar shells on October 8.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif summoned a meeting of National Security Council today in light of the recent border clashes.
Pakistan calls upon India to allow UN observer to visit LoC
Pakistan has called upon India to allow the United Nations (UN) military observer group to visit the LoC to investigate the recent ceasefire violations, Radio Pakistan reported.
Moreover, Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam, during a media briefing in Islamabad, said that Pakistan took UN observers to their side of the LoC to show them the aftermath caused by the firing.
She added that the observers have compiled a report and have sent it to the UN.

Why are you thinking about Kashmir? First think about yourself and your nation. Taliban and Al-Qaida are in your home and they will ruin your already worse country. NWFP and Balochistan is losing from your hand in the race of gaining Kashmir.

True face of India exposed again. India is a country which invaded the State of Kashmir, and has killed many innocent Kashmiri men, women and children under their brutal occupation of Kashmir, not to mention the Indian State sanctioned Rape Raids carried out by Indian troops on Kashmiris.
As India was not satisfied of killing innocent Kashmiris under Indian occupation, it has now started killing innocent Kashmiris on Pakistan's side.
India is clearly an aggressor, and peace needs to achieved by keeping the brutal Indian mindset in mind.
India is a country that promised Khalistan to Khalistanis, later only going back on their word, and committing genocide of Khalistanis. Treachery, Intellectual dishonesty, Rapes and Brutal Murder is what India stands on, because it has no moral or ethical reality to stand, on its deluded claims.
This is what we are dealing with, we need practically approach to have peace with this neighbour.
I believe giving mandatory military training to the civilian population of Pakistan as a part of their education would be an ever ready solution to the Indian problem, as our population would be well equipped to deal with Indians any time.
It does not matter who fired the first bullet. Please both sides stop and talk. Do not drag US, UK or any other nation into your problems as they don't care about India or Pakistan. They care about their own economies and their own nations. Look at what they have done in Iraq, Afganistan, parts of Pakistan. Now when ISL has started they want the local armies to fight. They are helping only because they are worried that the war may come to them. There are more Muslims living in India than in whole of Pakistan. Even the security advisor was not aware of that and that Eid is a National holiday in India. Let these old people retire and the young lot take over and bring peace in the region and prosperity for your people.
@MJ: Since 1972 when Simla agreement was signed, India has never inolved the UNMOGIP - not even during Kargill. Keeping dispute resolution bulateral is a matter of principle for India.

Well Usman, We do not allow UN because we are capable of solving our problem, on other hand Pakistan knows very well that No body in this world is concentrating on Pakistan's view about Kashmir and India.
hence Pakistan have no other options to make it highlighted to world other than by involving UN.
Pakistan Tactical weapons may be decade advanced but as soon as you think to act with all hypothetical weapons you will be finished by India's current weapons.

The Major difference between Indian politics and Pakistani politics is that our leader like Mr. Narendra Modi is asking vote for development and you leader Mr. Bilawal bhutto is asking vote for snatching Kashmir from India.
This was just a dress rehearsal to teach Pakistan some lesson, in case border violations still continue, a short but decisive war cannot be ruled to destroy the Pak conventional and nuclear capabilities. This war would incapacitate the country for the next ten years including its economy which is already in doldrums.

I don't believe DG Ranger Punjab is as stupid as the newspaper thinks. Pakistani army started violations along LoC thinking Monu and Sonu are in charge of India. When they tried trouble inside Indian Border they foundnout that Modi is in charge, not Monu and Sonu. Well Pak Army and DG Punjab ran back as hard as they could to save their tail and feel safe now that they are back in Pakistan.

Hello Pakistani brothers I am from India . I think we civilians from india and even from Pakistan don't want war but this is all political. This corrupt politicians from both the sides don't want peace. Questions is why? Bcz when every thing get normal they will left with no work . no political agenda for elections. They will not get commissions from importing arms and ammunitions. All this develop country US Germany etc... Want dumping market for there ammunitions. Here on other hand China talk so sweet with both the country's but they want to make colony to sell there industrial products . They are planning same thing what Britishers did with India and rest of the world long back and this media people take advantage of all this and show news in manner with provak civilians. Lot more to write but I conclude Guys we all are friends we should ask our government to stop all this n make peace.
If Indians honestly believe that they are just responding to Pakistani aggression, why don't they ask their own government to allow independent UN observers on the L.O.C.? The Indian government has denied request by Pakistan to put UN observers on L.O.C. more than a dozen times in this decade alone. And please ... don't give me the usual answer that Indians "care" too much about UN observers' lives. We have heard the same excuse from Israel hundreds of times when they deny independent observers and humanitarian aid from areas where they are "active"
@Ashish: well, I do not believe in exporting terrorism, beating you in agriculture or industry will not reveal who is escalating the LOC condition. Pakistan has always asked India to allow UN to observe to check who did the first aggression, but India has never accepted, I wonder why. Secondly, although yes I do believe that the only way forwards is to have a race in development and industry which sadly is not happening (I'll admit our faults) on other side, plz do not rely on advantage of numbers, RAW has no idea of Pakistan's arsenal, not even CIA does, and Pakistan's tactical weapons are at least a decade advanced than Indians because we have been developing them quiet longer than you. If you want a fight of words that will do none of us any good, I feel deep sympathy for every life that has been lost on either side of the border, what I cannot say is who shot the first bullet, you cannot expect your army to remain silent while Pak army shoots and shoots, and I expect the same from my army. The only way to prove to the world who is the aggressor in the countless LOC cease fire violations is to let UN observe, which Pakistan has requested repeatedly, only to be let down. If anyone wants war, both of us have enough weaponry to annihilate each other completely, please talk sensibly, it is the need of the hour that the people of both countries force their countries to reach peace.

India is the strongest it has been in years, under a nationalist government and a very strong economy. Pakistan finds itself in an almost exactly opposite scenario with a massively corrupt government that is itself a threat to national security and an economy in shambles.
Therefore, India is pressurising Pakistan to climb down from its position on Kashmir and exist not as a rival, but as a satrap similar to Nepal or Bangladesh.
Pakistan should fix its government first, build its economy, and then think of expanding its sphere of influence. The Army is critical to all of these goals.

The news has come from Pak Army, that India has done ceasefire violations. Can we trust Pak Army? As everyone says Pak army is controlled by terrorist.
