District regional transport authorities: Transport boards formed for all districts

DRTAs for Karachi division will be headed by the Karachi commissioner

KARACHI: The Sindh government has constituted District Regional Transport Authorities (DRTAs) in 24 districts of the province, said a notification issued by the transport department on Wednesday. The DRTAs for Karachi division will be headed by the Karachi commissioner, and the members for each DRTA will include the Karachi traffic police DIG, the district deputy commissioner, the traffic SSP and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation senior director. Meanwhile, DRTAs for the other districts will comprise of the deputy commissioner, SSP, the additional deputy commissioner and the executive roads engineer. The Provincial Transport Authority will continue in its existing setup.
