Time tested friendship: Xi Jinping for early Pakistan visit, says envoy

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan says the future of both the countries is bright

ISLAMABAD: Recapitulating the proverbial time-tested and all-weather friendship on the eve of 65th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Monday said that the future of their relations was bright.  “I am firmly convinced that with our joint efforts, our common dream of improving national prosperity and people’s well-being will be realized,” said Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong at a reception in connection with the anniversary.  “We will keep the tradition of high-level exchanges between China and Pakistan. Chinese President Xi Jinping is willing to visit Pakistan at a mutually convenient time at an early date,” the Ambassador said, adding that his country “also supports and welcomes Pakistan to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).” The Ambassador noted that “as time goes by, the priority of Pakistan in China’s diplomacy has not changed.
