Karachi violence: Five men killed in targeted attacks

In one incident, two persons were gunned down in Orangi Town

At least five people were killed in separate acts of targeted killings and violence in different parts of the metropolis.


A 39-year-old man, identified as Siddiq Omar, was shot dead near Tahir Villa, Federal B Area in a drive-by shooting, police said. Separately, two persons were gunned down in Orangi Town late Thursday night.

Police officials said that three men were dining at a local hotel when unidentified persons riding a motorcycle fired at them. As a result, two persons, later identified as Shafiq Khan and Azmatullah, were killed while their companion, Razi, was injured.

In another incident, 25-year-old Usman Saleem was killed near Singer Chowrangi, According to Awami Colony police, unidentified men fired at Saleem while he was riding his motorcycle. As a result, he slipped on the road and a speeding truck crushed him to death.  A five-day-old body was recovered from a well situated near Bakra Piri, reported the Malir City police. Police officials said the body was taken to Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth, for identification.
