Land Customs Raid: Man smuggling electronics held

LARKANA: The Land Customs issued a show-cause notice to a person allegedly involved in smuggling foreign electronic goods. The anti-smuggling squad seized as many as 27 allegedly smuggled goods while they were being transported from Karachi to Larkana in a coach. These items included chargeable lights, torches, emergency lights, torch chargers and Sony and Samsung LED televisions among others. These items were manufactured in China and Korea. Hyderabad Customs assistant collector Manzoor Hussain issued a show-cause notice to Sajjad Ahmed Shaikh. The notice mentions that if no written reply is submitted or no one appears for hearing on the given date and time, it will be assumed that the defendant has nothing to offer in defence and the case will be decided on the basis of available records.
